Thread: PHP Ajax class review for Open Technology Group

Never before in my life have I traveled so much. In the past 6 weeks I have been to Hawaii, San Francisco (three times), and currently I am on an American Flight 1531 returning to Dallas from North Carolina. I have been attending a PHP AJAX training class that is given by a company called the Open Technology Group (OTG), which is based out of Morrisville, North Carolina. The instructor for this course was a man by the name of Chander Ganesan. This was the only course that I could find on the Internet which combined PHP and JavaScript with actual classroom lecture. There were plenty of courses that taught each one individually, but OTG is the only one that offered the course in the World Combined.

About the Class:

The PHP AJAX training class is 4 days in length in a classroom environment at OTG's training center. The classes are small; at most they hold 8-10 people. In my class there were 4 other PHP developers who also wanted to learn AJAX technology. My intention was to take away enough information from the course curriculum so that I can create my newer applications which interact with Salesforce.com's API using AJAX technology.

What I have learned in the past 4 days has actually been quite remarkable. Chander made it so easy with his teaching techniques that I was amazed. I have always told friends of mine that if I can learn something then anyone can. Now I am sure that everyone in the course would agree that you are not going to come away from this class the Internet's foremost expert on AJAX and PHP but you will have a complete understanding on how the two can work side by side.

There was a lot of information given out over the 4 day period and the exercises were more advanced as the days progressed, but Chander did not hesitate to stop if someone had a question or did not understand something. He also went over each exercise in detail from scratch, not from some template that had already been typed out at an earlier date.

I would not hesitate to recommend this class to anyone that wishes to learn the basic understanding or how to start writing applications using PHP and Ajax technology. I will not go over each individual day but you can get a course outline but attached to this article is a PDF that has the table of contents of all the items covered in the class, there is lots of information that is covered.

I want to attend the course only that getting VISA to US from my country Nigeria is difficult.

I'm of the opinion that I might need to pay for the course before a letter of invitation could be sent to me to apply for VISA. What if my application is denied would my moneybe returned.
