New Look and New Software at MikeSimonds.com

For the past few months I have been a ghost on my own site. That is due to many reasons and I am sorry that I have not been able to be here very much. I was finishing up my Master's degree and dealing with family life, not like Tiger Woods. Also I have been revamping the site due to a major upgrade in the forum software I use here, Vbulletin, which has released a new publishing suite. These changes include a new CMS, Blog software, and new forums that will be released very soon. The theme on the site will also change and will not be custom to start off with because of time limitations.
Here is a screenshots of the new CMS, Blog, and Forums.

There will not be any data loss at all and usernames and passwords will remain the same.

I am shooting for around the 1st of the year to launch this, so please bare with me

    All the best!!

    ~Mike

I did perform the upgrade to the new vbulletin version but I did not like the way that the discussions were split. I am not sure that the entire publishing suite would really work here. I am going to keep testing it and wait for modifications on the vbulletin mod site to ensure that this can be or will be fixed.

    Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!

I am waiting to evaluate vb4.0 some more and will keep the site up to date when I make the switch. There are still a lot of bugs that have to be worked out and the themes are not up to date, which I would use to update my site because I do not have the time to create a custom theme.

Also if I go to the the blog, CMS, and forum. I will need to expand this beyond just salesforce php coding issues and help. I will need to come up with content that will fill the suite and expand on content.

I am also going to try and find some more people to join the site and come up with more content.

I hope that I can find a valid reason to upgrade, but not at the moment it is still not something that is viable.

The launch of the new vBulletin CMS is getting closer. They are about to release a new version because they rushed VB 4.0 out too fast and it had a ton of bugs in it. Everyday I read the forums over at vbulletin.com to see what the issues are and then I evaluate how I can avoid them.

Some new hacks or modification are also taking shape over at vbulletin.org, which will also help. Now I am searching for a good theme and that may take some time until a new one that is viable for this site.

    Just more updates!!
