What is really going on these days? What is our Government doing? Now it seems that our government is pissing off Russian President Vladimir Putin. Way to go!! Jesus H. Christ what is the Bush Administration doing now.


The United States of America is currently building a missile defense system in Europe to protect them from possible Iranian missile attacks. I had no idea that this was happening, I am sure most Americans did not.


This morning I surf my normal web sites, CNN.com and MSNBC.com and I read from the headlines that President Putin stating that Russia may aim their nuclear arsenal at new European targets if the United States goes forward with the construction of this missile defense system. Putin goes on to say:


"If a part of the strategic nuclear potential of the United States appears in Europe and, in the opinion of our military specialists, will threaten us, then we will have to take appropriate steps in response. What kind of steps? We will have to have new targets in Europe. If this doesn't happen, then we disclaim responsibility for our retaliatory steps, because it is not we who are the initiators of the new arms race, which is undoubtedly brewing in Europe," he said.

Iran also released a statement stating that their missile systems in no way could reach Europe and that the defense shield being put into place is a joke. They have some version of the Shahab missile that has a maximum range of 1200 miles, which cannot reach Europe. Sure experts say that it is possible for Iran to have the 4th version of this missile, which has a range up to 1,900 miles, which could reach Europe.


Do I believe what Iran says? Do I believe the United States? In the past (prior to the Iraq conflict) I would have believed our own government in a split second but now? Our own intelligence lied about Iraq and the reasons we used to invade that country, which is a fact that every American knows.


Why do we have to put a missile system into Europe? Can't they protect themselves? Are we protecting our interests? What or who are we, as Americans, really supposed to believe. I know that we are supposed to have faith in our leadership and that many Americans still do have faith in the Bush Administration. I for one, do not. This latest news headline, our old adversary in the Cold War, is now threatening to; once again, aim their nuclear weapons at European cities. If I was the leader of Poland or the Czech Republic I would stop the United States from building these missile systems as soon as possible, no matter what it took. Do we need to start another Cold War?


Man I am just blown away by what President Bush is doing these days. I am afraid for our country. We have lost many friends, we have angered many countries. Sure the bottom line is to protect the lives of Americans and our country and I will always believe this, as every American should. Isn't there a bottom line here though, when too much is too much, or is it not called going overboard? Well that is all for this week!
