This has been reported across the Internet today and I am actually experiencing the same issue as others with my 16 Gig, WiFi, IPAD. I am loosing the connection to my home wireless network. There is not a certain application that is causing the issue. The IPAD continuously asks me to place my password back in for my wireless network.

Apple has confirmed the issue but their knowledge base article is wrong in my opinion. All of my other wireless hardware does not have any issues connecting once the password has been set. the article, iPad: Does not automatically rejoin known Wi-Fi networks, states that:

Resolution

If you encounter this issue, try the following:
  • Create separate Wi-Fi network names to identify each band. This can be done easily by appending one or more characters to the current network name.
    • Example: Add a G to the 802.11b/g network name and an N to the 802.11n network name.
  • Ensure that both networks use the same security type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, and so on)
If the issue persists, reset your network settings using Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: Always ensure that your Wi-Fi router firmware is up to date.

There is no way that this is the issue, it has to be a hardware issue with the IPAD and I am sure that Apple will realize this in the near future and have an update for their software promptly, I can only hope.

I know that one way that I have corrected it was to actually remove the WEP encryption on my network, but that is an unsafe fix and I do not want to share my wireless network with everyone in my neighborhood.

I will keep this blog post up to date with comments and the fix once it is resolved.

I have continued to have issues connecting to my home network or any network that has security enabled. I have followed all of the corrections listed in the apple knowledge base perfectly, but still loose connectivity. The real only way to keep it connected is to completely turn off any security and have an open network without WEP, WPA, or WPA-2. Apple has to do something about the firmware and I am sure (and hope) that they will. All my other computers, printer, ps3, and other wireless devices do not have issues. Having an unsecured network is just a no-no in my book. for now it is easy to put the password back in, but Apple has to correct this ASAP

I continue to have issues with my IPAD loosing connectivity to my home network that is WEP enabled. I have tried all the settings that Apple has stated, but it still is an issue. Everyone knows that this is either a hardware issue or some sort of software update needs to be applied to the IPAD. The only real solution is to turn off any sort of security and leave your home wireless network open to all who would want free wireless Internet

I followed the instructions from this post at the apple support forums:

Apple - Support - Discussions - FIOS Router Problems SOLVED ...

I changed my security on my home wifi from WEP encryption to WPA. Now I have not lost an connectivity what so ever. This seems to be a short time fix until Apple realizes that there is a firmware or hardware issue with the Ipad and issues a fix in their next software update.
