My Name is Mike Simonds. I am a PHP developer and work for a major Semiconductor company.
I started writing "hello world" scripts about 5 years ago and have progressed into, what I call an intermediate PHP developer, there are still lots of information that I am currently learning on the fly. Currently my main job focus is to write applications that work with Salesforce.com.
In the summer of 2002, I started an online, off the wall, sports community called Sportsrant.com - Sports Talk With An Attitude, http://www.sportsrant.com. I have given up daily operations of this web site due to my job and other obligations. It has been now thriving for 5 years and continues to grow each day.
I spent 8.5 years in the United States Army, 4 in the infantry and 4 in finance and programming. I am a veteran of Operation Desert Storm with the 3rd Infantry Division, currently based out of Ft. Stewart, Georgia. I graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy in 1986 and University of Phoenix (not online) in 2005 with a BS in E-Business management. I plan on starting my master's studies in the fall of 2007.
The reason I started this Blog and Forum was to be able to help others that work with Salesforce.com and its API. At first I could not understand one thing that meant to work with an API such as Salesforce.com, but I have grown to enjoy writing different applications and scripts that interact with our live org of Salesforce.
I currently reside in the Dallas - Fort Worth area in Texas. I am married, for 8 years, and have two boys, ages 9 and 6, respectively.
