I agree Mike, its very frustrating to spend hours searching for info about the Salesforce API and PHP and after finding it then spend more time on test and fix.
Thats why I support what you are doing here, the fact is that right now this forum is the best PHP-Salesforce API source of documentation and examples in the web (or at least from all websites, forums that I could find in many many days of searching in the web
)
I really think that PHP-SFAPI usage will increase in mid-term as this forum grows
